Community rallies around local woman's bra drive

By WKTV News

(WKTV) - A local woman who is collecting bras for the less fortunate has been overwhelmed by the support.

Loretta Moccaldi came on Newstalk two weeks ago, and since then, she's collected hundreds of bras in every shape and size. She's organizing them and getting ready for the bra drive.

Moccaldi says so many organizations do clothing drives for people in need, but bras are always absent and it's an expensive necessity for all women.

"My original goal was a couple of hundred," Moccaldi said. "Then I went over 200. I said 'Well, maybe by some luck I'll make it to 300.' Then I went over 300, and I'm now at 446.

"Now my goal is 500 and my deadline is Friday."

The actual drive in April 12 at the American Legion on Herkimer Road and is for any woman who can't afford to buy a bra.
