Constableville man faces charges after domestic dispute, search in woods

(WKTV) - A Constableville man faces charges after a search in the woods led to his arrest on Christmas Eve, the Lewis County Sheriff's Office said.

Deforest M. Flansburg, 53, of Constableville is charged with felony criminal contempt in the first degree, criminal obstruction of breathing and harassment in the second degree.

According to officials, deputies and state police were called to a domestic dispute at Flansburg's home on Monday. Before authorities arrived, Flansburg fled into the woods and was not found.

On Tuesday morning, Lewis County deputies, New York State Police and Oneida County Sheriff's deputies located Flansburg in a wooded area off Kotary Road. After a short foot chase, officials took him into custody.

Flansburg was sent to Lewis County Jail on $10,000 cash or $20,000 bail bond.
