ROME, N.Y. (WKTV) - A sign outside the West Rome Drive-In in the City of Rome appears to be not just a sign of the nice weather as of late, but also a sign of hope for many residents who feared the theatre may not re-open.
Summer traditions should be able to go on as planned in the city, as construction goes on at parts of the drive-in area for a car dealership. Many residents thought the drive-in was in danger of shutting down when Davidson Auto Group purchased the property for a car lot.
However, the owner has promised that while a dealership is going on the grounds, the drive-in theatre will remain and will be revitalized, with movies to continue being shown.
The car dealership is expected to open this Spring, with the drive-in to open shortly after that.
