UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - Water service has been returned to residents in the area of Charlotte and Elizabeth Streets in the City of Utica after a contractor hit a line Monday afternoon causing a water main break.

The break occurred where construction crews were building a new bus transfer station, creating quite the muddy mess.

The water was off for about three hours on Monday while the Mohawk Valley Water Authority came to the scene and repaired the break.

Water Authority officials said no boil water advisory had to be issued and water should be back up and running normally.
