By The Associated Press

JOHNSON CITY, N.Y.  - Authorities say a 64-year-old man has been charged with stealing nearly $50,000 from an upstate New York chapter of an international fraternal organization.

Police in Johnson City tell local media that they've charged Earl Luedecke with grand larceny after an investigation revealed he stole about $49,000 over a three-year period from the Fraternal Order of Eagles chapter in his hometown, located just west of Binghamton.

Police say Luedecke is a former trustee of the Eagles Club. He was released after arraignment.

It couldn't immediately be determined if he has a lawyer.
