Counseling offered following unattended death of HCCC student

HERKIMER, N.Y. (WKTV) - Counseling is being offered to students and faculty at Herkimer County Community College following the death of a student over the weekend.

School officials say the male student was found in his campus apartment on Saturday evening.

School officials and Herkimer Police are referring to the incident as an unattended death and say there is no indication of foul play or reason for suspicion.

Out of respect for the family, the college is not releasing the victim's name, but we have learned that he was from the City of Rome.
