NEW HARTFORD, N.Y. (WKTV) - A New York Mills couple was injured Friday morning after a two-car accident on Burrstone Road in New Hartford.

According to New Hartford Police, the accident occurred around 8:20 a.m. on Friday near the entrance to the Utica Business Park when a vehicle headed eastbound on Burrstone Road and driven by Jenna Ziarko, 29, of Yorkville struck the rear of another vehicle going eastbound, operated by Patrick Rooney, 68, of New York Mills.

Authorities said both vehicles sustained minor damage, but Rooney and his passenger, Joan Clark, 76 of New York Mills, both complained of neck and pain. The couple declined medical treatment at the scene, police said.

Ziarko was issued a ticket for following too closely and will answer the charge in New Hartford Town Court in April.

The New York Mills Fire Department and Edwards Ambulance assisted police at the scene.
