Crews battle two fires in Forestport

FORESTPORT, N.Y. (WKTV) - Two fires kept crews in the Town of Forestport very busy Saturday night.

The first call came around 8:15 p.m. at 11816 Woodhull Road. When crews arrived there was smoke and flames coming from the structure.

Crews from Boonville, Remsen, Barneveld, Otter Lake and Woodgate were either called to the scene or called to standby for backup.

The structure is located before the Buffalo Head, across from Bonnie's Country Store.

Crews battled the fire for nearly two hours. An investigation into a cause is just getting underway.

No word yet if anyone was home when the fire started.

Shortly after this fire started, a second fire started on Kincaid Road, also in the Town of Forestport. This was called in as a brush fire. Crews from several departments also responded to this scene and were able to knock the fire out.
