Eight displaced in Brookfield apartment fire

BROOKFIELD, N.Y. (WKTV) - Fire officials say flames and smoke caused extensive damage at an apartment house across from the Brookfield fire station Tuesday morning just before noon.

The fire started on Academy Road.

Crews from Brookfield, Bridgewater, and Clayville fire departments were dousing an apartment on the building's second floor.

No word on if anyone was inside the building when the fire started, if anyone was hurt.

Eight people are displaced by the fire.

No word yet on a cause.
