Crews respond to report of three cars on fire in hotel parking lot

VERONA, N.Y. (WKTV) - Fire crews were called to the scene of La Quinta Inn and Suites in Verona on Wednesday afternoon for a report of three fully-involved car fires in the parking lot of the hotel.

People driving by on the New York State Thruway said that smoke could be seen as far away as Canastota, and that as dark smoke billowed into the air, a pungent smell drifted through the area.

There is no word on whether or not anyone was injured.
