Crossfit holds weightlifting competition for a good cause

By WKTV News

MARCY, N.Y. (WKTV) - Over 50 members of Crossfit Mohawk Valley participated in a deadlifting competition, Saturday, to raise money for the Gold Star Mothers organization.
The organization benefits mothers who have lost a child as result of military service during the war, and last year, Crossfit raised $1,500 for the organization.
"The foundation is near to my heart because I spent time in the Marine Corps and lost friends and I know local families who lost a son or daughter in Iraq," said Crossfit owner, John Bartholomeo. "So it is a fundraiser for that foundation."

Hundreds of people came out to watch and provide support for the participants in the lifting event.
