CLINTON, N.Y. (WKTV) - The daughter of a rock superstar was among two college students arrested in the Town of Kirkland over the weekend for drug use.

According to Town of Kirkland Police, officers responded to the Dunham Dorm at Hamilton College around 1:51 a.m. Wednesday to assist Central Oneida County Volunteer Ambulance with a report of a female who had allegedly overdosed on Heroin and was unresponsive.

Upon arrival at the scene, police said they secured a small quantity of Heroin.

Kirkland Police said two students from the college were arrested.

Ian S. Grant, 21, of Red Bank, New Jersey, was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. He was processed at the Kirkland Police Station and then released back to Hamilton College. He will appear in the Town of Kirkland Court at a later date. The Kirkland Police said they then contacted the Oneida County Drug Enforcement Task Force to continue the investigation.

Upon further investigation by members of the Oneida County Drug Task Force, a search warrant was obtained and executed in the Dunham Dorm at Hamilton College and as a result of the search, police recovered a quantity of Heroin, Marijuana and other drug paraphernalia.

Police then arrested Stephanie R. Bongiovi, 19, of Red Bank, New Jersey, also a student of Hamilton College. Bongiovi was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and fourth-degree criminal possession of marijuana. She was released on appearance tickets returnable to the Town of Kirkland Court at a later date.

Authorities said Bongiovi was taken to a hospital but expected to be released later on Wednesday.

Bongiovi is the daughter of rock star Jon Bon Jovi.

Central Oneida County Volunteer Ambulance, Clinton Fire Department, Hamilton College EMS and Hamilton College Campus Safety also assisted at the scene.

Hamilton College released the following statement:

"In addition to violating state law, the actions alleged to have been committed by the students violate Hamilton College policy. The college is cooperating with the police investigation. Our first concern is always for the safety of our students. Out of respect for the privacy of our students and in accordance with federal regulations we do not discuss individual health or disciplinary matters."
