Day of prayer and fasting for peace scheduled for Sunday

(WKTV) - St. Joseph-St. Patrick Catholic Church will have a day of prayer and fasting for peace in Syria and the world on Sunday.

The day will begin at noon at the church at 702 Columbia St. in Utica. A leader will begin each hour with recitation of the rosary, except for at 3 p.m. when the Divine Mercy chaplet will be recited. The rosary or chaplet will be followed by silent prayer for the remainder of the hour.

At noon, Vespers and Exposition of the Eucharist is scheduled. At 1 p.m. is the Joyful Mysteries of the Rosary with the Luminous Mysteries at 2 p.m. At 3 p.m. is the Divine Mercy Chaplet with the Sorrowful Mysteries of the Rosary at 4 p.m. The Glorious Mysteries of the Rosary will be at 5 p.m. and at 6 p.m. will be a Benediction with a procession to the 24-hour Adoration Chapel.
