Deer crashes through window of Genesee St. business

By SPENCER DAVIDSON

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - An unusual situation occurred at Monro Muffler Brake and Service on North Genesee Street, Saturday afternoon.

On a heavily travelled business street, a deer went through a window at the car service shop, startling the workers.

The mechanics working at the time immediately called 911, who then called the Department of Environmental Conservation.

"I was in the office on the phone, and I turned around," said Roy Butler, an employee of the shop. "I thought the door had come down and smashed, and then I see the deer sitting in the middle of the garage."

It was certainly a unique circumstance, however, not a first for this shop. This is the 2nd deer to mistakenly enter the garage in the last 4 years.

After much deliberation, the police stated that due to the injuries sustained by crashing through the glass window, the deer will be put down.
