Delivery of part delays repairs at Utica's Buckley Pool

By HILARY LANE

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - Buckley Pool in the City of Utica will not be re-opening Thursday as originally planned, but city officials say the wait will not be too much longer.

The pool, located in east Utica, is expected to invite swimmers back on Saturday. It was closed two weeks ago due to a faulty pump and electrical issues. The community came together to raise $15,000 for the repairs.

"The part was coming out of Indianapolis and it is now coming out of Florida, so we are hoping to have the part later today and then installation of the parts and all the electrical by Friday," said Mayor Robert Palmieri.

Until then, city officials say residents are welcome at the Addison Miller and Seymour Pools, with open swim running from 1 - 5 p.m. Each day.
