Demolition continues, making way for new arterial project

By NEWSChannel 2 Staff

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - As you drive along the North-South Arterial in the City of Utica, construction on the improved roadway is certainly visible with three buildings already torn down. A total of 57 buildings are due to be torn down to make way for the improved highway.

The project will cost roughly $60 million to complete.

Before a structure is demolished, it has to be cleaned out, with major construction not set to begin for another year.
