Deputies investigate series of larcenies from yards, vehicles

SHERRILL, N.Y. (WKTV) - The Oneida County Sheriff's Department is asking for the public's help investigating a series of larcenies from yards and vehicles in the City of Sherrill, Town of Vernon, and the Village of Oneida Castle.

Authorities responded to Seneca Avenue in the Village of Oneida Castle for a car larceny early Tuesday morning and found two men walking into the City of Sherrill carrying a large section of a plastic yard fence.

Deputies are not yet releasing the names of the men, but when they checked their vehicle, deputies found other stolen property from the Town of Vernon.

Other stolen property was stashed on the roadside, possibly to be picked up later.

One man was charged with petit larceny, the other was released pending further investigation.
