Dive teams search for missing man in Oneida Creek

By CAROLINE GABLE

ONEIDA, N.Y. (WKTV) - Several local law enforcement agencies are joining forces in search of a missing man, 42-year-old Bruce Albro. Albro is believed to have fallen into Oneida Creek.

Investigator Mike Burgess with the Oneida City Police Department says they got a call about a missing person around noon Thursday. Two hours later there were dive teams in Oneida Creek and a state police helicopter in the air searching from above. "Right now we are working with the Madison County dive team, as well as the Eaton Fire Department and the Cazenovia Fire Department, their dive units are currently checking the water. There is a lot of debris, and the water is running pretty rough so they are checking to see if they can find any type of evidence in the water," said Burgess.

Burgess says that Bruce Albro is the brother of Oneida Police Lt. Steve Albro.

Personal items from Bruce Albro were found just upstream from the bridge over Oneida Creek on the Sherrill, Oneida boarder. The search started at Sunset Lake in Oneida and then moved on to Oneida Creek, and so far there's no end to this investigation in sight.

Crews have now called of their search they plan to be back on the scene early Friday morning.
