UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - Two local non-for profit organizations received generous donations Thursday from Ally's Northeast Regional Vice President Steve Walters.

A $5,000 check was presented to The Community Foundation and a $1,000 donation was presented to The Kelberman Center during a recognition ceremony at Don's Ford Superstore.

The ceremony congratulated local business leader Don Carbone for being a finalist in the 2013 Time Dealer of the Year.

"Here we are up here in Utica, New York, competing with dealers all over the country, whether it's Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia, New York, Boston and to get to this level of recognition, it's awesome," Carbone said.

Although Carbone did not win the award, which was given out by Time in February, he certainly felt like a winner with all the recognition.

The Dealer of the Year award is one of the automobile industry's most prestigious and highly coveted honors.
