Dozen buses delivered to City of Utica, all made in Oriskany

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - Hundreds of workers at Orion bus are celebrating a delivery to the city of Utica, as an order of a dozen buses for the city will all have "Made in Oriskany" proudly displayed.

Many local elected leaders were invited to celebrate the work at an official unveiling of the buses Friday morning at Utica's Union Station.

With the price of gas at an average of $3.96 in the Utica-Rome area, bus ridership is up. Orion says Centro is helping to keep local people employed.

"This is tremendous to keep this relationship, partnership, and important to the 500 people working at our plant in Oriskany and their families and our vendors that are local," said Paul Chilkotowsky of Orion Bus.

For example, the buses in this new fleet are lettered with graphics designed by Seifert Graphics, also in Oriskany.
