Exhibit spreads veteran's message of recovery

By WKTV News

(WKTV) - A Utica man is spreading his message of recovery and hope in a new exhibit.

Willy Wilson served in the Vietnam War. Like many veterans, he suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder. Wilson, who lost one of his eyes in the war, was recognized Tuesday with the Purple Heart medal.

But that's not all. He's also one of many vets featured in a forensic banner exhibit. The exhibit's curator says Wilson's battle with PTSD is a common thread for many veterans.

Wilson is also a former professional boxer. The exhibit is on display at the Veteran's Outreach Center in downtown Utica through the end of June.
