Fashion show to prep students for job interviews
UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - A fashion show at Mohawk Valley Community College looked to equip students with the dos and don'ts of job interview attire.
The college teamed-up with Macy's to show-off what to wear and what not to wear when going to job interviews and college officials say getting the right outfit, just scratches the surface of what to do in a professional environment.
"I think they need to know how to present yourself properly and how to present yourself," said MVCC Career Counselor John Nehme. "When you're in a professional work environment, you want to make sure you dress professionally and in tune with what employers are looking for in this day in age."
Other things that counselors say go well with dressing for success are finding what you're good at, marketing yourself well and paying attention to detail.
