Two-car accident kills one in Little Falls

LITTLE FALLS, N.Y. (WKTV) - A two-car accident in Little Falls on Sunday afternoon has left one person dead. 

The accident happened around 5:10 p.m. on State Route 5, near the eastern side of the City of Little Falls, New York State Police said.

According to authorities, a vehicle was traveling westbound on Route 5 when it crossed the center line and drove into the path of an eastbound vehicle, hitting it head on.

The driver of the eastbound car was killed, and the passenger was being treated at Little Falls Hospital with minor injuries.

The driver and passenger of the westbound vehicle were taken to Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown with serious injuries.

The investigation by State Police is ongoing. More information is expected to be released Monday.
