Father in critical condition after son pepper sprays, then beats with bat

EATON, N.Y. (WKTV) - A 20-year-old Eaton man faces attempted murder charges for allegedly hitting his father in the head with a baseball bat.

Investigation has revealed that Vincent Stile from 4454 Route 26 in the Town of Eaton became upset with his father, Anthony. Stile, 59, after a verbal argument.

They say Vincent went to his bedroom and became extremely upset, then went back downstairs to where his father was laying on the couch and sprayed his father's face with pepper spray and then struck him approximately 15 to 16 times in the head and body with a baseball bat.

It happened around 8 pm Tuesday.

Anthony Stile was transported to Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse where he is listed in critical condition with multiple skull fractures.

Vincent Stile was arrested and charged with:
• Attempted Murder 2nd degree, a class "A" felony
• Assault 1st degree, class "B" felony
• Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th, class "A" misdemeanor.
He was arraigned in the Town of Eaton Court and remanded to the Madison County Jail on $500,000 cash / $1 million bond.
