CLINTON, N.Y. (WKTV) - A raging fire at an apartment complex in the Village of Clinton on Wednesday morning has displaced 14 people.

The fire broke out around 8 a.m. on Wednesday morning at the Old Carriage House apartments in Clinton and when firefighters arrived on the scene, they found a top floor apartment unit completely engulfed in flames.

The American Red Cross of the Mohawk Valley said it provided assistance of food, clothing and shelter to six families, totaling 14 people.

"Windows burst and it took about two minutes and it wasn't possible to be in the apartment anymore and we escaped through the other side of the building," said Frank Povell, one of the people in an apartment at the time of the fire.

Officials say the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
