Firefighter injured while battling house fire in Oneida

By WKTV News

ONEIDA, N.Y. (WKTV) - Fire officials in the City of Oneida hope to soon learn what started a fire at a house on Woodland Terrace on Tuesday afternoon.

A contractor who was working on a house nearby noticed the smoke and called 911, alerting officials to the fire.

During the course of battling the fire, a firefighter was injured, but is expected to be okay. A family of four lived in the home but was not there at the time the fire broke out.

While the home was not a total loss, fire officials say it will require a substantial amount of repair work before the family can be allowed to move back in.

Oneida Fire Crews were helped by Verona, Canastota, Lincoln and Wampsville Fire Department.
