Foot chase in Utica leads to felony arrest

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - A Utica man facing several charges after taking police on a foot chase Monday.

Raymond Garrett,18, has been charged with criminal possession of a weapon, possession of stolen property, and criminal possession of a fire arm.

Utica Police said when an officer approached Garrett in the area of Oneida Street he ran away taking police on a pursuit for several blocks.

Once officers caught up with him, they found that he allegedly tossed a loaded 9mm Taurus handgun, with 11 rounds. The gun was reported stolen in Oneonta.
