Former Rome resident charged with sexual abuse

(WKTV) - A Buffalo man has been charged with sexual abuse in connection with incidents that allegedly occurred in Rome in 2009 and 2010, the Child Advocacy Center said.

Jerome Daniels, 46, of Buffalo is charged with sexual abuse in the first degree.

According to officials, a victim was allegedly abused in Rome in 2009 and early 2010. Daniels was living in Rome at the time.

He was taken into custody on March 26 by members of the Oneida County Sheriff's Office Warrants Unit and the U.S. Marshals NY/NJ Regional Task force on the indictment warrant. He is being held in the Oneida County Correctional Facility in lieu of $10,000 bail.

The investigation was conducted by Oneida County Sheriff's Investigator Melissa Bolton, who is currently assigned to the Child Advocacy Center.
