Guilty verdict for some, but not all charges for former city official

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - A former Utica City Codes and DPW Commissioner has been found guilty in city court of several charges stemming from a club he owned.

Stephen Patterson is guilty of two counts of operating a cabaret without a license and of violating five city ordinances at his club, Pistol Pete's.

The violations happened in May 2009.

Patterson could face jail time or fines when he's sentenced April 15.

Patterson contacted NEWSChannel 2 to point out that while he was found guilty of operating a cabaret without a license, it was two days out of the two years he was operating. He also said that when it came to noise tickets, he was found guilty of noise five times out of two years of operation.

In June of last year, he was found not guilty of similar charges; these were the remaining counts.

Patterson said that just last week, 13 of his cases (including six cabaret cases and seven noise tickets) were dismissed.
