Fort Drum soldier charged after allegedly leaving baby with second degree burns

(WKTV)- A Fort Drum soldier is facing felony charges after an incident that left a baby covered in second degree burns.

Nathaneal Garrison, 22, of Watertown has been charged with reckless assault and endangering the welfare of a child. New York State Police said he subjected an 8-week-old baby to scalding bath water in January.

The baby suffered second degree burns on 45 percent of it's body. The infant was treated at Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse and has since been released.

Garrison is being Jefferson County on 10-thousand dollars bail.
