Four Herkimer men charged after investigation into forged prescriptions

HERKIMER, N.Y. (WKTV) - Four Herkimer men have been arrested following an investigation by police into forged prescriptions at several local pharmacies.

According to the Herkimer Police Department, the investigation began when several blank prescription forms were stolen from a local doctor's office. The scripts were then forged and passed to pharmacies at Walmart, Kmart, and Rite Aid in Herkimer. The scripts were paid for by the suspects with cash or through their insurance companies.

Joshua J. Phillips, 19, of Herkimer, was charged with third-degree burglary and 3 counts of second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument - all class D felonies. He was remanded to the Herkimer County Correctional Facility in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 bond.

Jonathan J. Nabinger, 23; Michael A. Vallone, 20; and Joseph M. Lockwood, 25, all of Herkimer, were each charged with 1 count of second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument.

All three were committed to county jail in lieu of bail.
