Four charged, one more sought in connection to meth production in Sylvan Beach

SYLVAN BEACH, N.Y. (WKTV) - Four people have been charged and one more person is sought in connection the production of methamphetamines in the Sylvan Beach area.

On February 8, 2012, the State Division of Parole requested the assistance of the State Police in Sylvan Beach in locating two wanted parole violators - Joshua T. Stimpson, 27, and his wife Meagan N. Stimpson, 23. Authorities said both were on parole after having been convicted of third-degree unlawful manufacture of methamphetamine.

On February 14, 2012, the State Police received a tip that Meagan Stimpson was a passenger in a vehicle that was traveling on State Route 69 in the City of Rome. The vehicle was located and stopped and Meagan Stimpson was located in the vehicle.

State Police said that further investigation and a search of the vehicle revealed the components required to produce methamphetamines, finished methamphetamine product and a small amount of marihuana.

Three other subjects in the vehicle were identified as Bonnie J. Coleman, 47, Richard J. Coleman, 48, and Bradlee Durant, 21, all of the Village of Sylvan Beach.

All four subjects were charged with the Criminal Possession of Precursors of Methamphetamine.

Meagan Stimpson was additionally charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of marijuana and false personation.

Stimpson was lodged in the Oneida County Jail pending her appearance in Oneida County Court on her parole violation.

The other the subjects were issued appearance tickets and are to appear in the Rome City court at a later date.
