Four charged with felony-count marijuana possession in Lewis County

MARTINSBURG, N.Y. (WKTV) - Four men are facing felony charges authorities say they were found in possession of freshly harvested marijuana.

According to New York State Police in Lowville, the four men were arrested during a vehicle stop on September 14 around 9:!5 o.m. By a New York State Environmental Conservation Officer on Gardner Road in the Town of Martinsburg.

The DEC Officer, along with NYS Police and Lewis County Sheriff's found the four men to be in possession of freshly harvested marijuana during the stop. That marijuana was later dried and found to weigh approximately 1.25 pounds.

Jonathan R. Lucas, 20, of Lowville; Justin M. Lyndaker, 20, of Lowville; Matthew R. Payne, 19, of Glenfield; and Daniel L. Cannan, 18, of Lowville are each facing second-degree criminal possession of marijuana, which is a felony.

The four were arraigned in the Village of Lowville Court and were released with further court proceedings scheduled for a later date.
