OXFORD, N.Y. (AP) - State Police say four members of an Oxford family remain hospitalized but are expected to recover from injuries suffered when their minivan was hit by a car operated by an underage driver.

Investigator Wesley Mills says Thursday that a 34-year-old woman and three of her four children, ages 10, 12 and 15, remain at Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse. Her 14-year-old stepson was released Wednesday.

A 15-year-old friend of the eldest child also remains hospitalized.

They were in a minivan that was hit around 1:40 a.m. Sunday in their hometown of Oxford as the family returned from a drive-in theater. The children's father, who was driving the van, was killed.

The 15-year-old girl driving the car also died. A 20-year-old man riding with her remains hospitalized.
