Four injured in one-car motor vehicle accident
SANGERFIELD, N.Y. (WKTV) - Four people were sent to the hospital following a motor vehicle accident, early Sunday morning.
According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, at approximately 1 a.m., Taylor L. Columbel of Waterville was traveling south with three passengers on Beaver Creek Rd. in the Town of Sangerfield, when she lost control of the vehicle on a curved hillcrest, and struck a tree on the driver's side door.
Upon arrival, responders discovered that the three passengers, Brandon R. Ward, 20, or Brookfield, Mary E. March, 24, of Waterville, and Tyrone ET. Davis, 39, of Utica, were able to evacuate the vehicle under their own power, but Columbel was trapped inside the wreck.
Responders had to remove the driver using special emergency hydraulic equipment, and we successful in the effort.
Officials say that Ward suffered a right leg injury, March complained of chest pain, Davis sustained a back injury, and the driver, Columbel, complained of chest and back pain. All victims were sent to St. Elizabeth Medical Center for treatment, and no serious injuries have been reported.
The accident is still under investigation, and charges in the crash are pending.
