Four people injured in two-car crash in Rome

ROME, N.Y. (WKTV) - Four people were injured Sunday night in an accident on Oswego Road in Rome. It happened at about 7:30pm.

The Oneida County Sheriff's Department says Kevin Campbell, 20, of Cicero was driving eastbound when he lost control of the vehicle and swerved into oncoming traffic.

Campbell's vehicle traveled into the westbound lane and struck the vehicle of Kenneth Weismore, 65 of Blossvale.

Campbell was transported by Vineall Ambulance to St Lukes for leg and hip pain.

Weismore was also transported to St. Lukes by AmCare Ambulance for chest pain.

Cory Chesebro, 22 of Blossvale a passenger in Campbell's vehicle was transported to St Elizabeth's for an open femur fracture.

Joshua Mathis, 20 of Rome was also a passenger in Campbell's vehicle. He was taken to the Rome Emergency Room for leg pain.

Based on the investigation, several traffic citations were issued including failure to keep right.

The City of Rome Fire Dept. was also on scene and assisted with extricating the passengers from the vehicles.
