Fourth of July Parade details released

(WKTV) - Details of this year's July 4 parade in Utica have been released, including the announcement of the grand marshals.

Utica Mayor Palmieri and the Genesis Group announced Monday that all area colleges, including college presidents and the campus communities, will serve as co-grand marshals for the Independence Parade.

The parade will kick off at 11 a.m. July 4 in front of Our Lady of Lourdes Church and proceed north on Genesee Street, before turning east onto Memorial Parkway and ending at the Parkway Recreation Center.

The Genesis Group will have a Party in the Park at F.T. Proctor Park from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., where there will be live bands, food and beverage vendors and a fireworks show at dusk.

Some of the entertainers will include The Easy Money Big Band, The Red Band and Holidaye.
