WHITESBORO, N.Y. (WKTV) - It is an honor that dates back to 1988 and on Tuesday, the Mohawk Valley Chamber of Commerce recognized the Business Person of the Year.

Frank Giotto is the President and Founder of Giotto Enterprises, which is composed of nine companies, including Fiber Instrument Sales.

350 people are employed because of Giotto and his companies serve 110 countries.

The chamber selects business leaders based on their service to the community.

"It is important to select an individual," said John Kenealy of the Chamber of Commerce. "Most selected do it quietly and somewhat anonymously. It's nice to point out the achievements of individuals, plus it's inspiring to others to get involved with their community as well."

Giotto is the man behind the Utica tower that is currently being built at Harbor Point, which will soon raise its seven foot LED letters for all in and outside the city to see from all the major highways in the area.
