Funeral held for Schuyler Street fire victims

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - A memoral service and calling hours were held Saturday morning for the four victims killed by the fire on Schuyler Street last Monday.

Services for Leida Santiago, Julius, Matias and Sebastian Rolon were held at the Eannace Funeral Home on South Street in Utica.

All four were killed in the fire on Schuyler Street Monday morning.

Santiago was 32, her children were ages four, two, and one.

All four died from smoke inhalation, officials said, before the fire likely could have reached them.

Fire investigators are still looking into what caused the fire.

Meanwhile, the community has rallied together to help support the family, including a bottle and can drive at Stash's Hit and Run that will last through May, along with a car wash through Tuesday, May 16 at Technical Automotive on Court Street in Utica.
