Genesis Group to honor educators, progams at Celebration of Education

(WKTV) - Genesis Group's eighth annual Celebration of Education is set for Nov. 21.

The event will honor outstanding educators and programs from throughout the area and will be at 5:30 p.m. at Hart's Hill Inn.

Those who are being honored are:

Edward Swiecki and Carla Crowley of Adirondack; Nancy Zumpano of Clinton; Delvina "Dee" Talarico of Frankfort-Schuyler; Kathleen Carney of Herkimer; Information Technology Academy at Herkimer BOCES; Barbara Knight, Sally Sherwood, Joanne Saya and Wendy Lakeman of Madison BOCES.

Also, Tiffany Phillips of Morrisville-Eaton; Susan Julian, Thomas McAveney and Vincent Condro of New Hartford; Gary Hadfield of New York Mills; Janet Jury of Oneida BOCES; Jason Mitchell of Poland; Kelly Runninger of Remsen; Karen Miller, Della Pray and Marjorie Derr of Rome; Lisa Frost of Sauquoit; Tradewinds Chadwicks Vocational Program with Upstate Cerebral Palsy; Learning Center at T.R. Proctor High School; Patricia Metzger of Utica; Lisa Staskowski of Waterville; Westmoreland High School Marching Band and Kristine Oczkowski of Whitesboro.

College honorees include Dr. Melissa Barlett of Mohawk Valley Community College; and the Cybersecurity Program and Northeast Cyber Forensics Center at Utica College.

The Education Hall of Distinction will honor Richard D. Hunt, Ken Slentz and Dr. Richard G. "Rick" Timbs.
