George Capron celebrates 50 years at Boonville radio station

By WKTV News

(WKTV) - When he was 19 years old, George Capron became a disc jockey.

Fifty years later, he can say he's stayed in the same job from the very beginning, which is no easy task in this industry.

Capron is the voice of WBRV-FM in Boonville. From 1964 to 1969, he worked several jobs at the radio station before taking over the morning show.

The general manager of The Moose says Capron has probably wished just about everyone in the Boonville area a happy birthday at least once.

Several lawmakers sent proclamations in recognition of his golden accomplishment.

Capron is considered a fixture in the Boonville community -- and on the airwaves.
