UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - U.S. Senator Charles E. Schumer was at the Saranac Brewery, Friday, in order to call on the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to reverse their course, and allow brewers and farmers to continue exchanging brewing byproduct.

Gillibrand: Sequestration would be devastating to NYS

Sequestration is the result of the Budget Control Act of 2011, because there was not a plan, at the time, to reduce the national deficit. So now, in the remaining seven months of this fiscal year, the government must come up with $85 billion in cuts. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand was in town on Friday, weighing-in on the issue.
