Gloomy weather can't take away patriotic spirit of locals on Flag Day

By WKTV News

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - The weather was perfect as locals celebrated the red, white and blue, Saturday.
The Elks Lodge in Utica and the Central New York chapter of the Military Order of the Purple Heart celebrated Flag Day at the Purple Heart Memorial Park.
Folks came out to show their patriotism and learn about the history of the flag.
It was a time to reflect on the history of our nation, and the stars and stripes that represent it. It was also a time to focus on what the American flag stands for...freedom.
"It's not just today," said Commander of the Military Order of the Purple Heart, Joe Fraccola. "Put your flag out everyday, honor patriotism, that's what this is all about."

Flag Day is a national day of celebration.
