Governor Cuomo endorses Palmieri for Utica Mayor

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - The Democratic candidate for Utica Mayor got a big boost Monday, receiving the endorsement of the Governor.

New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo has announced that he is endorsing fellow democrat Robert Palmieri for Utica Mayor.

"I am proud to support an accomplished public servant like Rob Palmieri," said Governor Cuomo. "Rob has the background Utica needs. His combination of private sector experience and record of serving the people distinguishes him from the rest of the field."

Palmieri said he was honored to receive the endorsement.

"I am proud to have earned the endorsement of Governor Cuomo," Palmieri said. "The Governor knows Utica well. I am confident he'll do everything he can to help rebuild our city. I look forward to working with him."
