Group displays model trains at annual exhibit

(WKTV) - A model train exhibit at the Oneida County Historical Society has expanded tremendously over the years.

The model trains travel around Central New York look-alike villages within the Historical Society building on Genesee Street.

This is the 19th year the historical society has hosted the Funtrack Model Railroad and Train Expo. It's a display the Funtrak Model Railroad Club puts on for all to enjoy. The event went on all last week, with Saturday as the last day.

One of the club members say they saw quite a crowd and the event is fun for kids.

"This year, we've been able to bring in some of our newer members for larger scale models," said Brian King of Funtrak Model Railroad Club. "Now we have two tracks, and that makes it better for everyone so they can compare and see what they want to get."

The club puts on the exhibit purely for enjoyment. Nothing is sold at the expo.
