Hamilton College holds campus emergency drill

CLINTON, N.Y. (WKTV) - Hamilton College is making sure it has an emergency plan in place before students return in the fall and held a drill Friday to make sure they are ready in the event of an emergency.

More than 100 participants helped set the scene for first responders. They wanted to be prepared to know what if the bleachers were to collapse in the fieldhouse?

Seven different fire agencies as well as volunteers from the community helped to make the exercise as realistic as possible.

Director of Campus Safety at Hamilton College, Frank Manfredo, said, "Emergency preparedness drills are important. They give us the opportunity to train together with external agencies police fire and EMS agencies not only to train together but to learn together so we can identify areas of opportunity to improve."

Hamilton College conducts these types of drills once a year.
