COOPERSTOWN, N.Y. (WKTV) - While royal followers were clamoring for the birth of the future heir to the British Throne on Monday, a local couple welcomed their own little prince around the same time. Nicole Beers and Bentley Johnson, of Hamilton welcomed their son, Dexter Alan Johnson to the world at 11:42 a.m. Monday, July 22 at the Bassett Birthing Center in Cooperstown. Dexter was born just 22 minutes after Prince William and Kate, Duchess of Cambridge gave birth in London Monday to a boy weighing 8 pounds, 6 ounces, at 4:24 p.m., London time, 11:24 a.m. Eastern time. Baby Dexter arrived slightly bigger at 10 pounds, 15 ounces. Nicole and Bentley say they had not followed press coverage of the royal couple's pregnancy, but friends and family had been and hoped Nicole would deliver the same day as Kate. The Hamilton couple says they just feel blessed to have a healthy baby boy.
