ROME, N.Y. (WKTV) - Olympic Bronze Medalist, Erin Hamlin hasn't had much down time since returning from Sochi in February, and her busy schedule continued as she spoke at the Rome Area Chamber of Commerce business meeting, Thursday.
Hamlin shared her inspirational story, which continued the Chamber's theme of honoring businesses or individuals who choose the Mohawk Valley as their home.
She made it a point to thank to everyone in attendance, saying she wouldn't be where she is without them.
"I really feel fortunate to have that," she said. "I'm definitely a unique case in the sense that not everyone on my team has the support system, has the fans.
"You guys are die hard and it's been awesome"

Five businesses were also honored at the meeting, including the Rome Sentinel, Olney's Flowers, the Griffiss Utility Services Corporation, the Humane Society of Rome, and Bartell Machinery.
