By WKTV News

REMSEN, N.Y. (WKTV) - The festivities have carried on for Olympic Bronze Medalist Luger, Erin Hamlin, here at home as she was honored at the first ever Luge-A-Palooza, Saturday.

Erin met some of her neighbors and fans on a meet and greet train ride beginning at Union Station in Utica, before heading back to her hometown of Remsen for a parade down Main St.

There were plenty of other activities going on as well, such as a giant Erin Hamlin sundae made with 30 gallons of ice cream, beer and wine tasting, autograph sessions, and even fireworks.

"We have a parade for most important girl of America," said Utica resident, Amelia Durant. "And here she is right here, she put us on the map."

"I'm so proud of her that she's from a hometown like this," said Orange County resident, Joann Jennings. "And couldn't be more proud of being an American, this is an American hometown."

There was also an auction where one lucky bidder was able to take home the Olympic team jacket that Erin wore during the 2010 Vancouver Winter Games.
