Hamlin speaks with NEWSChannel 2 about winning Olympic bronze

(WKTV) - Twenty-four hours after becoming the first ever American to reach the podium at the Olympics for singles luge, local Olympian Erin Hamlin finally received her medal.

Hamlin, finished her singles Olympic run in 3rd place, earning her the bronze and adding yet another historical accomplishment to her already stellar career.

Within the last day, Hamlin has appeared on multiple news outlets, such as ESPN, the TODAY Show, and NBC's Nightly News, and she even was trending on social media.

Shortly before ending her whirlwind 24 hours, Hamlin took the time to give locals a more personal look into the journey that made history, as she chatted via Skype with NEWSChannel 2's Kristen Copeland.
